Lieke Marsman is a Dutch writer, poet, and philosopher born in 1990. She started writing at a young age, and her debut poetry collection called "Wat ik mijzelf graag voorhoud" (What I Like To Tell Myself) was published in 2010. Since then, she has released several other collections of poetry and two novels.
Marsman has won several awards for her work, including the VSB Poetry Prize for her collection "Het Against Without Name" in 2016. She has also been a writer in residence at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science and the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa.
Apart from writing, Marsman also earned a degree in philosophy from the University of Amsterdam and has worked as an editor and a translator. She is known for addressing political and social issues in her work, such as climate change and LGBTQ+ rights.
